The Model Mindset

This is one of the most important lessons you will ever learn… for anyone… not just an aspiring model & actor!

WE are here to fulfill a purpose. My purpose is different from yours and your is different from mine. We are all so unique and have a unique way of expressing it.. there is something you can do that’s better than everyone else in the world and once you figure out what it is then you’re moving into the ‘mind set’. Are you ready to embrace who you really are… to be truly happy with what God gave you? Once that is in place your true charisma and personality will shine. People will say. “wow, who is that person… so confident and secure in their own skin” And they’ll want to be like you and around you. You will shine. Inner confidence is compelling and  Positive energy is contagious… whatever energy you are sending out you will get right back.

This business (well, life in general) is about building relationships, gaining peoples trust and wanting people to want to be around you. This is a REAL MODEL SECRET. The people who master this mindset are the ones agents will flip over and you will be a real working model. Especially, in Tv Commercials… Nothing is more important than personality. Clients don’t want to book you if you are not pleasant to be around!

This has happened on several occasions but once I booked a Verizon commercial and the director flat out told me.. they booked me because I was one of the only girls that came into the audition room smiling and friendly, that client went on to book me for several spots. I figured out pretty early on what really works… it’s not always the prettier face.

I remember another time I had an audition for a major beauty spot… an  OLAY Commercial. Every single girl in Los Angeles came out for that… I think they saw 400 girls. It was a huge commercial, running for 2 years and paying a lot! I remember the morning of the commercial I woke up and I had a HUGE pimple on my forehead!! I was devastated. “No!”  I cried. I thought not on such an important day. Do you know I almost called my agent and canceled the audition? I started to let those old insecurities about my skin take over. Finally, a short while later I got into what I call the Model Mindset. I went to that place where I feel Fierce and unstoppable!! I got ready and with confidence stepped out that door and went to that audition. When I got there… of course you see a lot of familiar gorgeous faces… but you never let that bother you, right? Because you are unique and special in your own way. So, I walked in and rocked that audition like nobody’s business.

When my agent called me several days later I was shocked!! I had booked the spot. I couldn’t believe it. You know when I got to that commercial for filming the director came up to me and said. “You know we saw a lot of girls for this spot and of course there were a lot of beautiful girls we thought about going with instead of you but we kept going back to you and even though you didn’t have the best skin… you had this magnetic personality that blew us away!!” I never forgot those words.. they meant so much to me. And that is truly a TV commercial model secret… it has worked for me over and over and no one could understand why I booked so many jobs!! It’s charisma baby!! and personality!! And it has to be genuine! You have to have that to really make it in this business. You will also see that your life becomes more joyful and abundant in every way, making your everyday living more worthwhile. It is absolutely important to get into the Model mindset!
